Theo Heller, M.D. is Chief of the Translational Hepatology Section, Liver Diseases Branch, NIDDK at the NIH. Dr. Heller's scientific interests cover clinical research, including first in human therapeutic studies in hepatitis D, and translational work in humans including factors relating to the progression of liver disease, rare liver diseases such as Portosinusoidal Vascular Disorder, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, and Fontan Associated Liver Disease, and the gut-liver axis. He has co-authored over 300 scientific manuscripts.

Pierre-Emmanuel Rautou (MD, PhD) is a clinical specialist in Hepatology with a PhD in vascular biology. He is Professor of Hepatology at Université Paris-Cité and Hôpital Beaujon (Clichy, France) since 2016. He is the head of the Hepatology department at Hôpital Beaujon and is leading an Inserm team dedicated to the study of the role of vessels in liver diseases, at the INSERM Unit 1149 (Paris Research Center on Inflammation).

Dr. Mavila is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Mavila's research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of liver regeneration during chronic injuries and how dysregulation of these molecular events contributes to the development of liver fibrosis and cancer. We are particularly interested in investigating the cellular crosstalk that occurs during chronic liver injury and its role in the initiation and progression of liver disease.

Dr. Schwabe is a Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Digestive and Liver Disease Research Center at Columbia University. His research focuses dissecting the role of hepatic stellate cells in liver homeostasis and MASLD as well as the development of novel therapeutic approaches for liver fibrosis and liver cancer.

Dr. Jacqueline O'Leary began her pursuit of research as an undergraduate at Stanford investigating drug development, continued at UCSF where she received and MD with thesis for work in cellular and molecular biology. Following her internal medicine residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Dr. O'Leary did a GI fellowship and transplant Hepatology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her post-doctoral research at Harvard focused on immunology. Afterward, she completed a Master's in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Nicolas Barros, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Indiana University School of Medicine and serves as Medical Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases at IU Health University Hospital. He received his medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and completed residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He subsequently completed advanced training in Transplant Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Alyson (Aly) Kaplan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Transplant Hepatologist at Tufts University Medical Center's new Abdominal Transplant Institute. Aly is originally from Syosset, New York. She got her BA from Princeton University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a major of psychology. She received her MD from New York University School of Medicine where she was elected alpha omega alpha (AOA).

Mohammad Almeqdadi, MD, is a transplant hepatologist and gastroenterologist at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. His clinical work focuses on advanced liver disease, liver transplantation, portal hypertension, and gastrointestinal care for complex patients. He is also involved in clinical research, quality improvement, and medical education, with an interest in using EHR tools, data-driven workflows, and practical automation to improve efficiency, patient care, and clinician experience.

I am a physician scientist and pediatric transplant hepatologist at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. My research focuses on basic and translational studies investigating the unfolded protein response (UPR) in murine models of cholestatic liver disease and pediatric cholestatic liver diseases.

Dr Lewindon is a senior paediatric gastroenterologist and hepatologist at the Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane Australia, the sole tertiary paediatric hospital for the state. Born, studied and trained in the UK, then trained in Australia he has practiced subspeciality gastroenterology including motility, cystic fibrosis, liver transplantation, eosinophilic oesophagitis before establishing the paediatric IBD service in Queensland where he is still clinical lead.
