AASLD Practice Guidelines Workshop- What's New

Description

This session covers recently published data complemented by new guidance for clinical providers in recently finalized or published AASLD practice guidances. Attendees will learn about the diagnosis and treatment of patients with acute chronic liver failure; portal hypertension and varices in cirrhosis; and procedures for the management of variceal hemorrhage. Choosing appropriate treatments remains a challenge for clinical providers to better manage patients who have chronic liver diseases and the implementation of up-to-date guidance statements can positively affect treatment decisions and patient outcomes.

Objectives

  • Describe the new treatment guidelines for clinical providers and respond to questions about their use in the care of patients
  • Provide guidance on the optimal practices to evaluate and manage the care of patients with decompensated cirrhosis, including the management of varices in cirrhosis
