AASLD, an association for scientists and healthcare providers in the field of liver disease, seeks a talented and dynamic marketing manager to join our marketing and communications team.  

The Manager, Marketing is responsible for the implementation and execution of multi-channel marketing plans for various campaigns as assigned by the Director, Marketing. They must lead the execution of marketing tactics including writing and reviewing content and serving as the marketing lead and project manager of assigned campaigns. They are responsible for ensuring message and tone consistency including brand alignment across their campaigns and marketing assignments.  

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-years of marketing manager experience , preferably at an association. The candidate should have strong written and verbal communications skills and have experience in a variety of communication and marketing mediums. Possess strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks, ideally with experience managing across multiple departments and outside vendors. Individual must be highly organized with a keen attention to detail and be able to work both independently as well as in a collaborative team.  

AASLD headquarters is in Alexandria, VA. This position is currently remote. AASLD offers a competitive benefits package, including a 35-hour workweek, generous vacation/holiday leave, and retirement contribution.

As the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, you will oversee, manage, and translate AASLD’s strategic plan into operational priorities and goals for the association’s marketing and communications programs.  You will be responsible for meeting these goals by engaging and motivating staff through accountability, supported by clear metrics and timelines.  You will keep staff directed and focused on serving members, delivering on revenue objectives, and the mission of the association. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a key member of the AASLD Senior Leadership Team.

You offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, or related field
  • 10 years in a senior management role, including progressive experience in marketing and communications
  • Experience serving as a company spokesperson 
  • Association marketing experience, including experience marketing the full suite of association products, with a particular focus on events
  • Proven experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities
