Natural History of Recurrent Alcohol‐Related Cirrhosis After Liver Transplantation: Fast and Furious

Domitille Erard‐Poinsot, Sébastien Dharancy, Marie‐Noëlle Hilleret, Stéphanie Faure, Géraldine Lamblin, Christine Chambon‐Augoyard, Hélène Donnadieu‐Rigole, Guillaume Lassailly, Olivier Boillot, José Ursic‐Bedoya, Olivier Guillaud, Vincent Leroy, Georges‐Philippe Pageaux, Jérôme Dumortier – 28 September 2019 – Alcohol‐related liver disease (ALD) is one of the main indications for liver transplantation (LT). Severe alcohol relapse can rapidly lead to recurrent alcohol‐related cirrhosis (RAC) for the graft.

Up‐regulation of miR‐let7a‐5p Leads to Decreased Expression of ABCC2 in Obstructive Cholestasis

Natarajan Balasubramaniyan, Michael W. Devereaux, David J. Orlicky, Ronald J. Sokol, Frederick J. Suchy – 27 September 2019 – Adenosine triphosphate–binding cassette subfamily C member 2 (ABCC2/Abcc2) is critically important to biliary excretion of many endobiotic and xenobiotic compounds, and is a major driving force for bile acid–independent bile flow. Abcc2 expression is reduced at the messenger RNA (mRNA) and protein levels in various forms of experimental cholestasis.

MicroRNA‐10a Impairs Liver Metabolism in Hepatitis C Virus‐Related Cirrhosis Through Deregulation of the Circadian Clock Gene Brain and Muscle Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Nuclear Translocator‐Like 1

Rika Horii, Masao Honda, Takayoshi Shirasaki, Tetsuro Shimakami, Ryogo Shimizu, Souma Yamanaka, Kazuhisa Murai, Kazunori Kawaguchi, Kuniaki Arai, Tatsuya Yamashita, Yoshio Sakai, Taro Yamashita, Hikari Okada, Mikiko Nakamura, Eishiro Mizukoshi, Shuichi Kaneko – 26 September 2019 – The circadian rhythm of the liver plays an important role in maintaining its metabolic homeostasis.

Clinical Utility of an Increase in Magnetic Resonance Elastography in Predicting Fibrosis Progression in Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Veeral H. Ajmera, Amy Liu, Seema Singh, Georg Yachoa, Matthew Ramey, Meera Bhargava, Ava Zamani, Scarlett Lopez, Neeraj Mangla, Ricki Bettencourt, Emily Rizo, Mark Valasek, Cynthia Behling, Lisa Richards, Claude Sirlin, Rohit Loomba – 25 September 2019

Induction of Lysosome‐associated Protein Transmembrane 4 Beta via Sulfatase 2 Enhances Autophagic Flux in Liver Cancer Cells

Yeonjung Ha, Yong Fang, Paola A. Romecin Duran, Ezequiel J. Tolosa, Catherine D. Moser, Martin E. Fernandez‐Zapico, Lewis R. Roberts – 25 September 2019 – Autophagy has been shown to be a key cellular event controlling tumor growth in different neoplasms including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Although this biological role of autophagy has been clearly established, the mechanism underlying its regulation remains elusive.
