The AASLD Foundation offers sincere thanks for the generosity and support of AASLD Committee and SIG leaders. This year, the Foundation hosted our first Committee/SIG Fundraising Challenge. Committees and SIG Steering Committees were given a goal to collectively raise $25,000 to help support a 2022 Pilot Research Award. Our amazing leaders banded together and exceeded this goal raising over $51,000.
Five groups had 100% participation – every member of the Committee or SIG steering committee gave to the challenge, and five groups earned placement among our top five fundraising teams.
Congratulations to members of the following member groups:
Groups with 100% Participation
- Acute on Chronic Liver Failure SIG
- Governing Board & Foundation Trustees
- Hepatitis B SIG
- Industry Advancement Committee, and
- Public Policy Committee
Top Five Fundraising Teams
- Acute on Chronic Liver Failure SIG
- Alcohol-associated Liver Disease SIG
- Governing Board and Foundation Trustees
- Individual Fundraising Committee Public Policy Committee
- Public Policy Committee
We would also like to acknowledge the Acute on Chronic Liver Failure SIG. This group expanded the pool of participants beyond leadership and rallied their friends and family to join in fundraising efforts, and the Hepatology Associates and Practice Guidelines Committee tied for second.
In total, 29 AASLD Committees and the SIG Steering Committee (out of 42 teams) reached their fundraising goal of raising $1,000 or more.
The generosity of these dedicated members and all challenge participants enabled AASLD’s leadership to fully fund a Pilot Research Award for next year, and has demonstrated the dedication of AASLD’s community to supporting early career investigators and innovative research.
