Biography

Dr. Tallulah Andrews in an early career researcher at the University of Western Ontario where her group develops novel computational methods for analyzing single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data. She holds a PhD from Oxford University, and completed her postdoctoral work at the prestigious Sanger Institute in Cambridge, UK. She has published 19 scientific papers with over 4500 citations on biological topics including biliary disease, malaria life cycle, and embryonic hematopoiesis. She co-authored the chapter on single-cell RNAseq analysis in the Handbook of Statistical Genetics, the leading textbook for bioinformatics, and published an influential paper revealing that single-cell imputation creates rampant false-positives. Her software packages are downloaded >5,000 times annually, and her interactive data visualizations are used by >1000 researchers per year.
