Victoria Gomez, MD

Biography

Dr. Gómez, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Florida with a focus and expertise in interventional endoscopy and bariatric endoscopy and is also program director of the Advanced Endoscopy fellowship program. She is director of Bariatric Endoscopy at Mayo Clinic and is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). Dr. Gómez' expertise includes all areas of advanced endoscopy including diagnostic and staging of oncological diseases of the gastrointestinal and biliopancreatic tract, management of chronic calcific pancreatitis as well as non-surgical weight loss therapies and management of obesity-related diseases and complications/issues following bariatric surgery. Dr. Gómez also served as an Associate Editor for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy from 2019 to 2022. She has over 150 publications and currently serves as Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
