Dr. Strowd is associate professor of neurology and neuro-oncology and vice dean for undergraduate medical education at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is a board-certified neurologist specializing in neuro-oncology. His background in neuroscience provides a neurocentric approach to neuro-oncology and translational research. His research is advancing the field of neuro-oncology by discovering new treatments for glioma and innovations to improve the quality of life for patients with brain cancer or inherited tumor syndromes. He is Chair of the Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Investigator Team at Wake Forest and co-directs the Tuberous Sclerosis and Neurofibromatosis Multidisciplinary Clinics. He is co-program leader for the Experimental Therapeutics and Applied Sciences program within the Comprehensive Cancer Center overseeing the conduct of early drug studies across the cancer center. He has published over 140 peer-reviewed articles, is author of Neuro-Oncology for the Clinical Neurologist, and has served as national principal investigator for multi-site studies through the Adult Brain Tumor Consortium and ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Groups. As an educator, his mission is to inspire each student to find their passion and pursue it. As vice dean for undergraduate medical education he oversees all aspects of medical student admissions, curriculum, and student support. He is chair-elect for the AAMC's Southern Group on Educational Affairs and board member for the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
