Biography

Dr. Katie Kelley is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC). She serves as the Chair of the HDFCCC Data Safety Monitoring Committee, Co-Chair of Clinical Research in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, and Chair of the HDFCCC Gastrointestinal Oncology Site Committee. She leads the clinical research program for patients with advanced hepatobiliary cancers at UCSF, with involvement in multiple pivotal clinical trials which have led to recent regulatory drug approvals for patients with liver and biliary tract cancers. To expand our understanding of the biology of hepatobiliary cancers, she also initiated and is the Principal Investigator of the UCSF Hepatobiliary Tissue Bank and Registry, a biorepository protocol which supports collaborative translational research and collects longitudinal data on treatment outcomes. She holds leadership roles in national and international organizations dedicated to hepatobiliary cancers, including membership on the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation's Scientific and Medical Advisory Board and the Governance Board and Educational Committee of the International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA). She is a member of the Hepatobiliary Cancers Panel of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI)'s Hepatobiliary Cancer Task Force.
