Biography I graduated from Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. I completed my Internal Medicine program at Ankara University School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine in 1997 then the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at the same university in 2000.
I became an Associate Professor in Medicine in 2004 and a Professor in Medicine in 2009. I have worked at Ankara University School of Medicine, Department of Gastroenterology since 1992.
My primary area of interest is the liver and its diseases. My work in both clinical hepatology and basic sciences is extensive. I am actively involved in basic and clinical science research in the pathogenesis and treatment of various liver diseases, especially viral etiology-induced and fatty liver diseases. I treat liver transplant patients from the pre- to posttransplant period. I also have a particular interest in the liver complications observed in patients undergoing other solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
I have been an associate member of the Science Academy.
I am currently a member of several national and international societies.
