R Scott Rector

Biography

Dr. R. Scott Rector is a Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri. He has an active research program which focuses on chronic diseases like obesity, diabetes, and MASLD. His lab employs translational methods, from cell culture systems to human intervention studies, focusing on understanding and treating MASLD, with notable findings on the roles of physical activity, mitochondrial dysfunction, and dietary interventions. His work is supported by various grants including NIH and Veteran's Health Administration funding.
