Biography

Dr. Paulina Deming, PharmD, RPh, is an Associate Professor-Clinical Educator at the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and serves as the Associate Director of Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) Viral Hepatitis Programs. These programs include the viral hepatitis community ECHO and the New Mexico corrections HCV ECHO. In collaboration with the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, she also serves as a faculty expert on the Indian Country HCV ECHO and the HCV/Substance Use Disorder ECHO. At Project ECHO since 2005, Dr. Deming has served on the expert faculty panel to inform clinical decisions on HCV therapy and trains other health care providers how to comprehensively care for patients with HCV and HBV. Most recently she served on ECHO's management team for HCV elimination within the New Mexico Corrections System. She is licensed as a pharmacist clinician (PhC) and sees patients in the university based HCV clinic as well as at Truman Medical Services. In addition to her teaching, she has co-authored papers and book chapters on the management of HCV infections and the outcomes of Project ECHO's HCV programs.
