Neil Gupta, MD, MPH is board certified in Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine and joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2010 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. He currently serves as the Chief of the Epidemiology & Surveillance Branch in CDC's Division of Viral Hepatitis, where he oversees national surveillance, outbreak response, data modernization, and epidemiological studies related to viral hepatitis. During his time at CDC, Dr. Gupta has played a leading role in many outbreak responses, including as lead of the infection prevention and control response team in Liberia during the 2014 Ebola outbreak, Incident Manager for the national response to Hepatitis A outbreaks, and lead of both the Health Systems & Worker Safety Task Force and Vaccine Task Force during CDC's COVID-19 response.
