Dr. Guindi completed Anatomical Pathology residency, and Liver and GI Pathology fellowship in Canada. She is board certified in Anatomical Pathology by American Board of Pathology (US), and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada)
She has been faculty at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, since 2012 and is currently Professor of Pathology. Previously, she was Faculty in Pathology at the University of Toronto, Canada.
She is involved with multiple pathology national and international organizations. She is currently President of the Hans Popper Hepatopathology Society at United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP). She has been invited to speak at national and international meetings including USCAP meetings. She served as Editorial Board member for Case Reports in Pathology Journal.
Dr. Guindi contributed over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. Her research interest is focused on liver pathology. Research interests include hepatocellular carcinoma: effect of local therapies, prognostic and predictive markers in hepatocellular tumors, liver fibrosis and autoimmune liver disease
Dr. Guindi's involvement in teaching includes educating pathology residents, pathology and clinical Gastrointestinal/Hepatology fellows. She serves as Director of the GI and Liver Pathology Fellowship training program. As Director of GI and Liver Pathology, she oversees a high volume service that includes inflammatory bowel disease cases, major oncologic resections and Liver transplant related specimens, explants and biopsies, and complex pancreaticobiliary resections.
