Jonny Sexton, PhD

Biography

Dr. Jonathan Sexton is faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and the College of Pharmacy, Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sexton is a translational scientist with expertise in artificial intelligence-enhanced drug discovery and development. His research focuses on advancing lead compounds toward clinical applications in various therapeutic areas, particularly in liver and gastrointestinal diseases. He leverages organoid-derived tissue models, quantitative biology, high-throughput screening, Cell Painting technologies, medicinal chemistry, big data mining and multivariate statistical analysis to advance novel therapeutics.
