Jess has worked in healthcare as an EMT, Physician Extender and RN for 21 years. Diagnosed with PBC at the age of 30, she then shifted her focus to advocacy in chronic liver diseases. She has served as a National Patient Advocate with the American Liver Foundation since 2016. She is a GLI A3 Graduate and has spoken at the PBCers Conference and the AIHA Conference. She was transplanted in 2021 and now works with Lifeline of Ohio in Donation Support Services. She is a member of the AASLD Patient Advisory Group.
