Biography

Dr. Jennifer Vittorio is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and an Attending Pediatrician at Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone Health. She was recruited to NYU to serve as the medical director of the inaugural Pediatric Liver Disease and Transplant Program in 2023.

Having completed a dual residency in both internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Vittorio has a particular interest and specializes in the transition of adolescent and young adult liver transplant recipients from pediatric to adult health care services. She focuses on the enhancement of self-management behaviors and transition readiness in pediatric liver transplant recipients through a structured, multidisciplinary approach to transition planning.

Her other clinical and research interests include pediatric transplant hepatology and cholestatic liver disease in children. Dr. Vittorio is currently a site primary investigator for global studies examining the role of novel bile acid modulators for children with rare cholestatic liver diseases.

Dr Vittorio is an active member of the pediatric liver community with memberships in AASLD, SPLIT, NASPGHAN and AST. Through the AST and LICOP she currently leads the Transition of Care Working Group and is a member of the SPLIT Quality Committee.
