Gerri Baer, MD

Biography

Gerri Baer is a Medical Officer and Clinical Team Leader in the Division of Hepatology and Nutrition in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) at the FDA. She is trained as a neonatologist, and is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. After a clinical career in neonatology, Dr. Baer joined the FDA in 2015 and established a cross-Center neonatology consultation service, providing guidance for reviewers of drugs, devices, and biologics that are evaluated for treatment of newborns and pregnant women. In 2022, Dr. Baer joined the Division of Hepatology and Nutrition where she leads a team of clinical review staff responsible for reviewing parenteral nutrition products and drugs to treat liver disease.
