Cristal Brown, MD, MHS is a transplant hepatologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Brown focuses on interventions to help eliminate health disparities throughout the trajectory of end-stage liver disease. These interventions include improving use of interdisciplinary team management for the multidimensional needs of patients with end-stage liver disease and methods for increasing serious illness communication and advance care planning with patients and caregivers navigating the complications of advanced liver disease. Dr. Brown's research has been funded by the Cambia Health Foundation, American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine Research Scholars Program and NIH T32/K12 programs.
