Biography
Ayako Suzuki, MD, PhD, MSc is an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at Duke University and the Durham VA Medical Center. An interdisciplinary physician-investigator specializing in hepatology, Dr. Suzuki's research focuses on drug-induced liver injury and the effects of lipid toxicity in liver disease. Her work spans translational, clinical, and epidemiological research, utilizing large electronic health record datasets to advance knowledge. She is particularly interested in understanding biological disparities in liver disease based on sex, age, and reproductive status, aiming to improve precision in risk assessment and treatment.
