Biography

Alyson (Aly) Kaplan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Transplant Hepatologist at Tufts University Medical Center's new Abdominal Transplant Institute. Aly is originally from Syosset, New York. She got her BA from Princeton University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a major of psychology. She received her MD from New York University School of Medicine where she was elected alpha omega alpha (AOA). She then went on to complete her medical internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and her T32 gastroenterology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital. During her T32 gastroenterology fellowship, she also received a Masters in "Epidemiology and Health Services Research" at Weill Cornell. She recently finished her transplant hepatology fellowship at the combined New York Presbyterian Cornell/Columbia program.

Aly has specific research interests in living liver donation and in disparities in liver transplant. She has authored over 40 manuscripts and has been the recipient of multiple awards, such as the AASLD's Emerging Liver Scholars and Advanced Transplant Hepatology awards. In her free time, Aly enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring with her husband and her dog, Billy.
