Prashant Bhangui

Biography

Dr.Prashant Bhangui is currently the Associate Director and a Senior Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgeon at the Institute of Liver Transplantation & Regenerative Medicine, Medanta-The Medicity, Delhi NCR, India. He obtained his Masters in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, at the Henri Bismuth Hepatobiliary Institute, Villejuif, France (October 2009), and also holds an European Inter University Diploma in Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Cancers: Oncosurgical Strategies, from Universite Paris XI, Republique Francaise, France (July 2009). He completed his Master Of Surgery (M.S), at Goa Medical College, Goa University (November 2004), India with a Goa University Gold Medal for the same. With an experience of more than 4000 Liver Transplants and hepatobiliary surgical procedures, Dr.Prashant is one of the key opinion leaders globally in the field of liver transplantation, transplant oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, management of liver cancers, and advances and innovations in living donor liver transplantation. For his academic and clinical excellence in management of patients with HCC, he was awarded the prestigious K.N. Udupa Memorial Oration 2016 by the Indian Society Of Organ Transplantation (ISOT), and the Vanguard Award 2016 by the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS). Dr.Prashant has been elected to key positions in International Societies, including the Council of the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS) for the term 2023-27. He was an Executive Council Member of the Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI), and heads the LTSI Task Force on Education and Fellowships. He is the Associate Editor for the Journal Transplantation, the Official Journal of the ILTS and TTS, and serves on the Reviewer Panel for Hepatology, Journal Of Hepatology, Transplantation, Liver Transplantation, Transplant International, World Journal Of Surgery, among others. He is also an active member of other International Societies like the ESOT, ELITA, AASLD, ILDLT Study Group, IASGO, ISLS, ISOT, Les Compagnons Hepatobiliaire. He has more than 100 publications in high index, peer reviewed Journals and several book chapters to his credit.
