Description
In this session the progress of treatment development in order to functionally cure hepatitis B will be discussed. Both antiviral and immunological target engagement is currently applied. Although we are able to decrease HBsAg levels substantially and even reach HBsAg loss the sustainability of that response is debatable. Moderators will take the attendees in the journey along the different treatment options and how to combine them in a safe way to ensure functional cure with finite treatment.
Objectives
- What are the new treatment modalities in order to reach functional cure for hepatitis B
- How can these treatment modalities be combined in order to be successful and ensure enough safety
- Which biomarkers could help us explore treatment success with sustained off treatment remission of disease
