In this session learners will gain a better understanding of the role of innate immunity and innate immune cells in the regulation of hepatic fibrosis. The paracrine role of innate immune cells with fibrogenic cells and potential therapeutic interventions will be discussed.

Objectives

  • To understand the critical role of innate immunity in liver disease characterized by hepatic fibrosis
  • To understand how innate immune cells drive hepatic fibrosis
