Biography

Professor and chief of Endemic Medicine and Hepatology, Faculty of Medicine, Helwan University, Egypt, and past-president of the Egyptian association for Research and Training in HepatoGastroenterology (EARTH). Prof. El-Kassas has a Post-graduate diploma in Clinical Research, and he is the founder and director of Clinical Research Center, director of Research Support Centre, and Chancellor of Scientific Research, Helwan University, and a member of the Specialized Scientific Council for Medical Research, ASRT. Moreover, he is currently appointed as the regional council member of International Association for Study of Liver (IASL), and member of The Global NASH Council. Prof. El-Kassas authored and co-authored more than 170 international publications in indexed peer reviewed journals. He is leading a large group of researchers on national level in Egypt (New Cairo Research Group) and is collaborating with many international colleagues. Prof. El Kassas had clinical and research training internships in Kyoto University, Japan, Pasteur Institute, France, l'hopital Tinon, France, Rotterdam University Hospital, Netherlands, University of Calgary, Canada, and Fresno Medical Center, California, USA. Prof. El-Kassas is experienced in various Hepatology topics with focus on viral hepatitis, fatty liver, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
