Making the EHR Work for You: A Hands-On Workshop
Description
Through applied clinical informatics, electronic health record (EHR) embedded interventions represent an opportunity for enhancing and standardizing care delivery to ensure equitable outcomes. Through utilization of scalable solutions, the field of clinical informatics has potential to be widely impactful on care delivery in chronic liver disease care. This session is designed to provide participants with a “How to Guide” for building interventions within the EHR along with real-world examples and opportunities. During the session, we will review factors that contribute to implementing effective solutions within the EHR. We will highlight the successful implementation of an EHR-based intervention for population health management in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Additionally, this session will include an interactive component in conjunction with a national EHR vendor (Epic Systems) during which we will review possible implementations of targeted clinical decision support interventions in patients with chronic liver disease. Handouts will be available for attendees after the session.
