Lucia Valenzuela Perez

Biography

Lucia is born and raised in Santiago, Chile. She is veterinarian from the Universidad de Chile and she earned her phD degree at the same University. She performed her first post doctorate in Dr. Caroll Beltran's Lab focused on gut diseases with special interest in the gut liver axis. In 2022 she moved to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester to pursue a second post doctorate mentored by Dr. Petra Hirsova. She is currently working in her lab studying the role of CD4+ T cells in the pathogenesis of MASH disease.
