Laith H. Jamil

Biography

Dr. Jamil is a Professor of Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He is the Section Head for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and the Medical Director of Endoscopy at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. He earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine, Baghdad University. He completed his internal medicine residency as the chief resident at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan; a gastroenterology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan; fellowships in hepatology/liver transplant and in advanced endoscopy at the Mayo Clinic. His research pursuits have focused on therapeutic endoscopy, with a special interest for pancreaticobiliary diseases, and endoscopic mucosal resection of large polyps. Dr. Jamil has written articles on numerous subjects related to the field that have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Hepatology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Journal of Gastroenterology, and Gastroenterology, among others
