Hepatology Associates Course

Description

By identifying and minimizing disparities in liver transplants and chronic liver disease, the Associates Course will expand attendees' knowledge and improve patient outcomes. The course will focus on underrepresented populations, specifically aiming to improve care and outcomes in the transgender population and discuss the unique needs in pediatric liver patients as they age and transition to young adults.  Attendees will learn about biliary tract pathology and increase their awareness of medical management across the lifespan of patients who require specialized hepatobiliary surgery.

Objectives

  • Understand the significance and workup for cholestasis
  • Understand management of pediatric patients with hepatobiliary disease
  • Improve knowledge in the care of transgender patients with chronic liver disease
