Description

Health disparities in liver disease have long been recognized to affect liver disease morbidity and mortality. There are growing efforts to improve these outcomes for vulnerable populations, but they are often being developed and implemented in silos around the country. This session will seek to provide a platform for sharing strategies, successes and failures in efforts to improve health disparities.

Objectives

  • Describe how big data and machine learning can be leveraged to advance health equity
  • Hear directly from community advocacy groups while they provide information about best-practices for community engagement and its ability to advance health equity
  • Highlight a community-based clinical trial sties as method to increase the diversity in clinical trial enrollment
