Gerd A Kullak-Ublick

Biography

Gerd is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist and currently heads the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. His department coordinates the IMI TransBioLine Consortium for the qualification of new safety biomarkers, and Gerd leads the work package für Drug-Induced Liver Injury. In addition to his academic affoliation, Gerd also acts as chair of the Hepatic Safety Team and as Global Head of Mechanistic Safety at Novartis. His area of research is focused on drug and bile acid transporters in the liver, as well on mechanisms of Drug-Induced Liver Injury.
