Alcohol All Things Considered - Biomarkers to Developing a Clinical Research Program in Alcohol-associated Liver Disease

Description

The goal of this program is equip clinical and translational researchers with the tools and framework to apply towards advancing biomarker research in alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). This program will provide an overview of biomarker categories and application of emerging biomarkers in ALD. Attendees will learn criteria for biomarker development and gain insight into research priorities in ALD from key scientific stakeholders from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).

Objectives

  • After participating in this program, learners will gain insight into emerging diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment response biomarkers in ALD
  • Learners will understand the general framework for biomarker development and apply this framework to different contexts of clinical research in ALD.
  • Learners will be able to integrate biomarkers as surrogate endpoints in their clinical research.
