Course Description

Novel endoscopic considerations will be reviewed for the pre-transplant cirrhotic patient including a discussion of weight loss management, endoscopic management of primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), the role of cancer screening and management of precancerous conditions in cirrhotic patients, and finally novel endoscopic interventions and special considerations in patients with cirrhosis. The hepatologist will review and approach endoscopic topics that may broaden their clinical practice and help them understand advanced techniques available for pretransplant patient management.

Learning Objectives

  1. Gain knowledge on how to manage metabolic complications in patients with pre-transplant and cirrhosis, including the use of endoscopic approaches.
  2. Acquire knowledge on endoscopic approaches in pre-transplant and cirrhosis patients, with a focus on comorbidities such as primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
  3. Study endoscopic surveillance and management of pre-malignant lesions in patients with cirrhosis and pre-transplant candidates.
