Abstract Submissions Now Open!

Deadline to submit is May 29, so don't delay.

Overview

The abstract submission portal for The Liver Meeting® (TLM) is now open. To present, the first step is to submit an abstract to be considered for a presentation. Submissions should follow all established guidelines and will be reviewed by the AASLD Scientific Program Committee (SPC) based on the policies and criteria outlined below.

Early Career Investigators: Apply for the AASLD Foundation's Abstract Travel Awards. The awards recognize research excellence and promote professional development. These awards provide recipients with travel support to defray costs associated while attending TLM to present their outstanding research to an international audience. Call for abstract submissions are due Thursday, May 29.

Applicants must be the presenter of the abstract to be eligible for funding.

All abstracts are blindly peer-reviewed and evaluated based on scientific merit by experts in the category selected. The AASLD SPC uses these rankings to develop the scientific program of the conference. Abstracts are allocated to short oral plenary and parallel presentations (10-minute presentation plus a five-minute Q&A) and poster sessions based on their focus of interest. Authors who do not wish to be considered for oral presentation should check the "Poster Only" option. All abstract presenters must register for The Liver Meeting.

AASLD Abstract Review and Selection Policy

For each category, abstracts are reviewed by at least four reviewers, and ranked accordingly to a numerical score. Reviewers cannot see author names and affiliations, and those with conflicts do not score pertinent abstracts. Abstracts are ranked within the category that is selected by the submitter, although if selected, abstracts may be moved into other content areas for presentation.

Abstracts are selected for oral and poster presentations based on the integration of the abstract subject into sessions within a specific topic, abstract rank, and suitability of the content for presentation.

Posters of Distinction are considered to be particularly noteworthy and represent the top 10% of all accepted poster presentations.

Incomplete Data Sets

If abstracts contain incomplete data at the time of regular submission, consider submitting the complete data as a "late-breaker" abstract submission in mid-September.

Case Reports

Novel clinical observations can provide new insight into clinical phenotypes or pathogenesis of disease. Case reports are not frequently submitted to The Liver Meeting, but submitting authors may submit one using the same guidelines as the standard abstract submission.

Case reports will be scored and ranked by the same review team that evaluates abstract submissions for the category and descriptor selected by the submitting author.
